Bhubaneswar to Babson

Growing up in a family business with our office and one of the factories right at home, I always knew I wanted to be part of it. So, while looking for colleges, I was a bit confused about what to look out for. Which course should I go for? Which subjects to choose? and most importantly which college can cater the most to my interests? As I tried to answer all these questions, I found out about Babson College.

Babson has held the number-one spot in entrepreneurship education for 27 years in a row. What excited me the most was that they understood students like me, who often plan to return to their family businesses and aim to expand them. Babson offers courses that cater to these aspirations. Additionally, they have a department called the Bertarelli Institute for Family Entrepreneurship (BIFE), which connects students with resources and networks specific to family businesses. My journey started by taking action because that’s what Babson looks out for in students. Entrepreneurship is not only about starting up a business, but rather it’s a mindset in which you approach things differently than the normal way. I started taking part in a lot of business competitions, doing internships, making the most of my school by participating in all activities I could, and most importantly getting good grades for my predicted scores that would be sent to the college. After months of hard work and uncertainties, I was thrilled to receive my acceptance

to Babson.

When I first stepped onto the Babson campus, I did not know what to expect. I wondered if I would fit in if I could keep up academically, and if I could build a strong network. To my surprise, the people at Babson were approachable and easy to connect with. I quickly adapted to the environment. In just two months, I've had ample opportunities to attend huge networking events

with people from all industries and countries, learn from successful individuals like Kevin

O'Leary, and make wonderful friends. The supportive and positive atmosphere at Babson has been evident in my journey. While working on my startup idea, I've received immense support from faculty, clubs, and fellow students who are always eager to help and connect students to the right people.

In a nutshell, Babson has already proven to be an excellent platform for me to connect with the right people, establish valuable connections, and grow in the direction I desire and learn what I want to. This is just the beginning of my four-year journey, and I'm excited about what the future holds.
